QuickSMS

Well, there is no question about the swiftness of the application launch time. It is faaast! It launches with a quick tap of the volume button. I love that! No waiting for the text app to launch. Due to my short term memory loss (or ADD, or young age, or mutitasking or all of the above), I have forgotten the message I wanted to text someone before Apple's text app would load- but then I have a lot of text messages to load.

Merely having an option for a signature is a major bonus that I haven't seen in other SMS apps that I have tried. Maybe you are one of those people who thinks that signatures are stupid- In which case, you have the option to turn it off. Personally, I love every opportunity to add any custom options so this appeals to me.

There is also an option to receive a delivery report. Now, I wondered for a long time why anyone would be so anal as to want a report stating the time that a text msg was delivered, but quickly found a need for it under my Suncom (Now T-Mobile) plan once people complained that they weren't getting my texts until hours later. It seems that an innocent message saying "BTW, My name is Lara" sent to someone at 2:30PM is not quite the same message when received at 3AM the next morning. So I have to say, well done there also QuickSMS people! And thank you T-Mobile for buying Suncom...

The coolest thing next to how quickly it launches has to be the icons! There are Emoji icons and emoticons. Also, this app features , encryption, delay timers and allows you to insert from contacts, notes, and templates.

I guess if I had to rank this SMS app on a scale of 1-5, I'd have to give it about a 4.5

I'd still love for them to find a way to incorporate the following:
- Option to add a photo for picture messages.
- Option to display time on inbound/outbound msgs when rec'd more than 5 mins apart
- Option to send via carrier or wifi
